The collage elements included in this colorful and contemporary still life give it an underpinning of nostalgia. I have a treasure trove of letters and vintage papers that have been handed down. One of my favorites is a notebook written back in the late 1920’s by my great aunt named Winsome Goodpasture. The page I used in this painting was her handwritten Latin exercise. Also in the layers are vintage papers that include a map of the moon, a page from Golden Encyclopedia about music, and a number chart.
