I’ve been working on this painting off and on for several years now trying to achieve color relationships that were vibrant yet not discordant. I finally broke through by borrowing a green diamond floor pattern from Bonnard’s “Getting Out of the Bath.” All of the layers have created a rich surface with many layers of texture and collage materials. I’m really happy with the result. It’s the kind of painting to live with and find new details each time it’s looked at.
