Last Iris is a part of my late summer paintings. I started it a while back and when going back to work on it, I was surprised at how it took on a direction I hadn’t intended. The colors surprised and delighted me. I still paint flowers and still life after all these years because the possibilities are endless and I love surprises. Collaged papers include polka dots, a vintage dictionary fragment, and an old ledger page.
