It’s no secret that I love Matisse…and this little vintage yellow teapot that I often paint. As a child, the only access I had to great art was through books from the library. I still love looking through our huge collection of art books. This painting shows my love for post impressionism which I have carried in a new direction with collage elements. The polka dot grids and number charts refer to faith in atoms, spirit, pixels and all of the things that are hard to see that pervade the physical world, a reminder of the underlying connection and order in all things.
