Still Life With Glass
Still Life With Glass
Many of my paintings are done with thoughts about the ladder of time. These nested bowls are reminders of my mother and grandmother. Once they belonged to them and now have been handed down to me. I hope my daughter will want these someday. In the lower right is part of a print of one of Monet's Cathedral paintings. Other collaged elements are birds, mummies, a harp and other musical instruments, a page from a1906 theological book on prayer, a chart of coins, a biology drawing of an arm, and bits of maps. The snake's outline echoes the bowls' curves and is a traditional symbol of the creative force in the world. This is an older painting that I’m now sharing on my website.
